Ohio native Maurice Colter has enjoyed a lifelong love of music. He studied guitar privately while at Bryant & Stratton College, graduating with an Associates Degree in Business Management. Continuing his education, he earned an academic scholarship from Lakeland College, graduating with a Bachelor's Degree in Business Management. After college graduation, Maurice spent some time traveling in Colorado, New York, and England, and the live music he saw changed the course of his life. After returning to Wisconsin, Maurice attended MATC's music program, studying piano, voice and guitar, and graduating with an Associate’s Degree in Music. He played piano for a local band called Up North, winning a “Battle of the Bands” competition and a spot to play at Summerfest. He played classical guitar regularly at Theatre in the Square in Marrietta, Georgia. He plays electric guitar at Bradford Memorial Church. Currently, Maurice is a performer and teacher in Milwaukee. His goals include continuing his music education in composition and teaching at the collegiate level. Maurice enjoys gospel, classical, jazz, blues, rock & roll and R&B.
